Tulsa 66ers Add Varem, Santos to Roster

TULSA, Okla., March 30, 2007 - The Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League have acquired forwards Jeff Varem and Leonardo "Morro" Di Pacce Dos Santos.
Varem, a 6-6, 240-pound forward from Washington State will replace Denham Brown, who left the team. Varem is expected to join the 66ers next week for the season's home-closer on Friday, April 6.
Varem was waived by the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Jan. 31 due to injury after playing in 24 games (17 starts), averaging 9.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in 29.8 minutes for the Skyforce. He participated in NBA summer league action with the Phoenix Suns in the summer of 2006.
He spent the 2005-06 season in France with Pau-Orthez. In 30 French ProA League games he averaged 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds and in 14 Euroleague games he averaged 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds. Born in Benue, Nigeria, Varem played with the Nigerian National Team in the 2006 World Championships in Japan, averaging 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in six games.
As a senior at Washington State (2004-05) he averaged 10.5 points and a team-high 7.8 rebounds in 28 games.
Dos Santos (6-11, 230) will replace Alan Anderson, who recently signed for the remainder of the season with the Charlotte Bobcats. Santos played in Brazil for Sao Caetano Esporte Clube and led the Brazilian league in blocked shots with 3.0 per game, while averaging 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds.
Santos is expected to be in uniform when the 66ers host the Fort Worth Flyers at Expo Square Pavilion tonight.
