66ers claim fifth consecutive win at home

TULSA, Okla., March 30, 2007 - Tulsa used a 43-point third quarter en route to a dominating 123-99 victory over Fort Worth Friday night at Expo Square Pavilion.

The 66ers (19-25) got another outstanding performance by Desmon Farmer. Coming off a career-high and franchise-record 48 points against Albuquerque Wednesday night, Farmer scored a game-high 37 points.

Tulsa also got a career-high 33 points from Marcus Vinicius, on assignment from the Oklahoma City/New Orleans Hornets. Will Conroy (19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists) and Jean Felix (15 points) also finished in double-figures.

The Flyers (25-19) were led in scoring by Pops Mensah-Bonsu, recently assigned to Fort Worth by the Dallas Mavericks, who finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds.

The visitors dominated the rebounding department, outboarding the 66ers 62-35.

However, Tulsa excelled in the shooting categories, hitting 48-of-93 field goals (52 percent), including a franchise record 16 three-pointers at a 50 percent clip. The home team also committed fewer turnovers (5) than the Flyers (20).

Tulsa will play host to Fort Worth again on Saturday night. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Expo Square Pavilion. The first 1,066 youth will receive a free pair of 66ers basketball shorts, courtesy of the Kivisto Family Foundation and My41.
