Tucson Padres Open 2013 Season Thursday

The Tucson Padres begin the 2013 Pacific Coast League season Thursday at 5:35 pm Pacific Time in Salt Lake City against the Angels Triple-A affiliate, the Salt Lake Bees. Please note the attached Tucson roster now has uniform numbers.

Opening Day Notes:

The Tucson Padres are 1-1 in their previous two opening games.... The Padres lost on Opening Night 3-0 at home to Fresno in 2012. San Diego RHP Joe Wieland took the loss in that game, his Triple-A debut.... The first game of 2011 was in Colorado Springs and the Padres won, 18-14. It remains the most total runs in a game the Tucson Padres have played. The Padres hit four home runs and had 21 hits in that game.... Jedd Gyorko made his Major League debut for San Diego in New York on 4/1, becoming the 21st player to reach the Major Leagues for the first time after playing for the Tucson Padres.

Home Opener:

The Tucson Padres first home game of 2013 is Friday, April 12 at 7:05 pm against the San Francisco Giants Triple-A affiliate, the Fresno Grizzlies. The first 2,500 fans receive a free magnet schedule, courtesy of Tyson Any'tizers.
