Tucson Loses To Orange County 4-1

Orange County, CA - The Tucson Toros managed just 5 hits in their 4-1 in Orange County against the Flyers on Friday.

Toros Starter James Garcia pitched a strong game, but ended the hard luck loser to fall to 2-4 on the season. Garcia pitched 7 innings allowing just 2 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits and a walk while striking out 5.

Tucson scored their lone run in the 6th inning when SS Ryan Priddy led off with his 6th triple of the season, putting him in a tie with teammate Jose Valdez for the most in the league. RF Francisco Plasencia drove followed with a sacrifice fly to centerfield to avoid the shutout.

Although the hits weren't coming, Tucson drew 5 walks and stole 3 bases in the defeat. Priddy was the lone Toro with multiple hits, adding a single in the 4th. 2B Adam Courcha and LF Darren Blakely both notched their first double and stolen base in a Toros uniform.

The Toros and Flyers will square off in a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m. (Tucson time) on Saturday in both teams' last action before the All-Star Festivities set to take place at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson from July 12-14.
