TT Toliver named AFL Ironman of the Week

TAMPA, FL -- Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver/defensive back TT Toliver was named the U.S. Army Ironman of the Week by the Arena Football League for his Week 10 performance against the Austin Wranglers.

Toliver helped the defending ArenaBowl champion Storm snap a two-game losing streak and avenge an earlier loss to the Wranglers. The third-year player collected 249 all-purpose yards in the game, a season-high for the Storm.

Toliver compiled 218 kickoff return yards in the game, including touchdown run backs of 58 and 53 yards. Toliver also hauled in a pair of receptions for 28 yards. Defensively, Toliver was the Storm's third-leading tackler, totaling 5.0 total stops. He also had an interception and a forced fumble in the game.

The Bethune-Cookman product is one of six Storm players to see action in all 11 games this season. He leads the Storm with 41.0 tackles and three interceptions. He also leads the team in kickoff return yards (807) and all-purpose yards (1,491) and is third in receptions (45) and receiving yards (604).

Arizona Rattlers quarterback Sherdrick Bonner was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week, while New Orleans VooDoo defensive specialist Monty Montgomery was named the AFL’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Toliver and the Storm return to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Columbus, Ohio, to take on the Columbus Destroyers. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Nationwide Arena.
