AFL selects Firstwave as official CRM provider
April 20, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK â The AFL has entered into an agreement with Firstwave® Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSTW), a leading provider of industry-focused CRM solutions. Under this agreement, Firstwave will use its Firstwave Sports CRM solution to provide database integration and fan analysis to discover new opportunities to increase fan loyalty and revenues as well as provide more value to ticket buyers.
Using Firstwave Sports, a detailed fan analysis will be conducted for the AFL and its 19 teams. By analyzing various databases and customer support groups throughout the League, the AFL will obtain a single view of all data pertaining to an individual fan, including demographics, purchasing history and preferences. In result, the AFL intends to use this to deliver more value to its fans.
"The primary focus of the Arena Football League is to be not only the most fan-friendly sport, but also to be the most partner-friendly property in sports. The AFL and its teams strive to exceed the expectations of our existing fan base as well as recruit new fans," said GLENN HORINE, Executive Vice President of AFL Properties. "We look forward to working with Firstwave to improve our understanding of the individual AFL fan and to share this valuable information with our partners."
The Firstwave Sports solution includes a league and event administration tool, online learning and certification for coaches and referees, venue management capabilities, and a powerful participant and fan management system. Firstwave Sports integrates with an organization's existing ticketing system to provide an integrated, comprehensive CRM and ticketing solution.
"As the success and fan base of the AFL continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to understand the individual fan, their purchasing history and preferences," said DAVID R. SIMMONS, Firstwave President and COO. "Firstwave will help the AFL better understand each fan, which could provide teams with the opportunity to increase fan loyalty as well as ticketing and merchandise revenues."
