Arizona's Bonner, New Orleans' Montgomery & Tampa Bay's Toliver earn week 11 honors

NEW YORK – Arizona Rattlers quarterback SHERDRICK BONNER, New Orleans VooDoo defensive specialist MONTY MONTGOMERY and Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver/defensive back T.T. TOLIVER have been named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player and U.S. Army Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 11 of the 2004 season.

Bonner (6-4, 240, Cal State-Northridge), who is in his 11th AFL season, earned Offensive Player of the Week honors by leading the Arizona Rattlers (6-5) to a 71-48 victory over the Eastern-Division-leading Dallas Desperados (6-4) on Sunday. The 2003 All-Arena First-Team quarterback completed 20-of-34 passes for 272 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions. This marks the 14th time that Bonner has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Montgomery (6-0, 195, Houston), who is in his rookie season, helped lead the New Orleans VooDoo (8-2) to a 64-46 victory over the Columbus Destroyers (3-7) on Sunday. Montgomery led the VooDoo with 12.5 tackles, including one tackle for a two-yard loss, a 42-yard fumble return for a touchdown, a 14-yard interception return and two passes defensed. This marks the first time that the former Cougar has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Toliver (5-11, 185, Bethune-Cookman) led the Tampa Bay Storm (4-7) in all facets during their 57-55 overtime victory over the Austin Wranglers (6-4) on Sunday. The three-year veteran returned two kickoffs for touchdowns – 58 yards and 53 yards – compiling 249 all-purpose yards, 218 of which came via kickoff returns. Toliver had three receptions for 28 yards on offense and recorded an interception, a forced fumble and 5.0 tackles on defense. This marks the first time that the former Wildcat has earned an AFL weekly honor.

Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Austin 's John Kaleo, Carolina's Rickey Foggie and Damien Groce, Columbus' Sedrick Robinson, Indiana's Adrian McPherson, Los Angeles' Tony Graziani, New Orleans' John Fitzgerald, New York's Aaron Garcia, Orlando's Joe Hamilton and San Jose's Mark Grieb.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Bryan Henderson, Carolina's Daryon Brutley, Indiana's Anthony Derricks, Los Angeles' Jason Moore, New York's Donvetis Franklin, Orlando's Jermaine Smith, San Jose's Omarr Smith and Tampa Bay's Lawrence Samuels.

U.S. Army Ironman of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Tom Pace, Detroit's Ron Carpenter, Indiana's Jarrod Penright, New Orleans' Aaron Hamilton, New York's Lincoln Dupree, Orlando's Bret Cooper, Philadelphia's Ricky Ross and San Jose's Dan Loney.
