Tropp Named to All-Star Roster

Sioux Falls, SD-The United States Hockey League announced today that Stampede forward Corey Tropp has been named to the West Division roster for the 2007 USHL Prospects/All-Star Game on Tuesday, January 30 in Waterloo, IA.

A second year forward, Tropp is the Stampede's leading scorer with 35 points on 15 goals and 20 assists in 29 games. Last week, he recorded five points in three games (4g, 1a), including two consecutive goals versus Des Moines that forced overtime and two goals (the first and eventual game winner) at Omaha Saturday night.

The Grosse Pointe, MI native was ranked 82nd overall by NHL Central Scouting in their Mid-Term Rankings of eligible players for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Tropp has already committed to playing collegiate hockey at Michigan State University.

Last year, Stampede forward Andreas Nödl took home USHL All-Star MVP honors in Sioux City after posting a goal and an assist and leading the West Division to a 5-3 win over the East Division. In all, the Stampede have had four players earn MVP honors at the Prospects/All-Star Game. Rick Gorman, Thomas Vanek and Jim McKenzie have also won the award in the past.

The Prospects/All-Star Game will take place at Young Arena in Waterloo, IA on January 30 at 7:05 PM. Tropp and the Stampede return to action this Thursday and Friday with a two-game series against the Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets at the Sioux Falls Arena. Game time both night's is 7:05 PM and tickets are still available.
