Washington Wild Things News Release
WASHINGTON, Pa. (August 14, Game 1) - Johnathon Tripp's seventh start of the season for Florence ended with a complete game shutout as Florence took the front end of Saturday's doubleheader 6-0. He fanned six Wild Things. His teammate Chad Sedio hit two home runs to help the Y'alls to the victory.
Harrison DiNicola doubled to start the scoring in the third inning of the seven-inning contest before scoring on Sedio's first of two homers, a home run to left field. Jordan Brower scored on a failed pickoff throw and error by Keven Pimentel making it 5-0 in the fourth after Axel Johnson knocked in a run with a single earlier in the third inning that made it a four-run game. Sedio's second homer came in the fifth, making it 6-0.
Scotty Dubrule had two of Washington's three hits in the loss, extending his on-base streak to 24 games.
WASHINGTON, Pa. (August 14, Game 2) - Florence used a two-run fifth inning and lost Washington opportunities to sweep Saturday's doubleheader at Wild Things Park.
