Trio Of Bucks In All-Star Game Wednesday

BROOMFIELD, CO- The Laredo Bucks will be well represented in Wednesday's Central Hockey League All-Star game at the Broomfield Event Center. The Bucks three all-stars, Jeff Bes, Serge, Dube, and Dustin Traylen will lace up their skates for the Southern Conference, as they take on the Northern Conference. Game time is 8:05pm Central.

Bes and Dube will be playing in their third CHL All-Star Games, while Traylen is appearing in his first. Bes was named Southern Conference MVP of the 2006 game, scoring four goals and handing out an assist.

The Southern Conference will be looking to snap their four-game losing streak to the North, and pick up just their second win in the all-star game since the CHL and WPHL merged in the 2001-2002 season.

The Southern Conference team has five of the top seven scorers in the league, led by Jeff Bes with 59 points (24-35=59). Arizona's Alex Leavitt (21-35=56) and Tyler Redenbach (15-38=53) are second and third, with New Mexico's Konrad Reeder (15-30=45) is fifth, while Odessa's Dominic Leveille (20-27=47) is seventh.

Dube leads the South defense with 35 points (7-28=35). Dube's 28 assists are tops among all CHL defensemen.

The South's net will be patrolled by Traylen (15-6-1, 2.09 G.A.A, .923 sv %), Odessa's Alexandre Vincent (10-2-4, 2.04 G.A.A, .939 sv %), and New Mexico's Mike Minard (8-6-3, 3.49 G.A.A, .901 sv %).

The Northern Conference is led by former Buck and current Rage Captain Brent Cullaton. Cullaton is fifh overall in the CHL scoring race, and leads the North with 53 points (8-45=53).

Cullaton's Rage teammate Scott Wray (20-26=46) is second on the North squad in scoring, with Colorado's Greg Pankewicz coming in with 44 points (11-33=44).

The North will be strong in goal as well, with Youngstown's Andy Franck (11-4-1, 2.67 G.A.A, .903 sv %), Bossier-Shreveport's John DeCaro (12-4-2, 1.87 G.A.A, .936 sv %), and Mississippi's Sebastien Centomo (13-9-1, 2.48 G.A.A, .916 sv %).

Mississippi defenseman Derek Landmesser leads all players this season in all-star games played. The game in Broomfield will be his sixth consecutive trip to the game tying him for the second most appearances all-time. He has scored six points (1-5=6) in his previous five appearances. The leader is former Oklahoma City defenseman Hardy Sauter who played in eight all-star games. One appearance behind Landmesser is Youngstown's Chris Richards, Odessa's Sebastien Thinel and Wichita's Daniel Tetrault, all will be playing in their fifth CHL all-star game.

On Thursday morning Bes, Dube, and Traylen will fly to Oklahoma City to meet up with the rest of the Bucks.

Laredo will be have a three in three this weekend. The Bucks will play Friday night in Oklahoma City (7:35pm), Saturday night in Austin (5:08pm), and will host Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

**LEC's Two Millionth Customer Will Be Sunday**

The 2 millionth LEC customer will be a Laredo Bucks customer/fan THIS coming Sunday when the Bucks take on Corpus Christi at 4pm.

The two millionth customer will receive a $1,000 ticket voucher from the LEC to be used on any LEC/Laredo Bucks show in 2008. (upon availability).

All people attending Sunday's game will be asked to enter the main entrance until the winner is selected, so arrive early to avoid any delays into the arena.

The two millionth customer and their guests will be escorted upstairs where they will get a free suite, sodas and a free buffet dinner.

**Penner Suspended **

Bucks rookie defenseman Alex Penner was suspended by the CHL Monday for his hit on Bossier-Shreveport's Matt York Saturday night. The length of the suspension is not yet known.
