Rockford Lightning News Release

Rockford, IL- Sometimes, a team needs a total team effort as they square off against the league's best team. Rockford got that tonight, as 5 players scored 16 or more points as they defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 111-103.

Rockford hung close with Sioux Falls throughout the first half, only trailing by seven at halftime. Near the end of the first half, Ronnie Fields called a time out, grabbing his thumb. Fields went to the locker room, and was later taken away from the MetroCentre in an ambulance with a broken thumb. The Lightning stormed back in the second half, winning the last two quarters of the game, and earning the victory. Brant Bailey, Brian Lubeck and Marshall Phillips each had 19 points for the Lightning, and Stais Boseman had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Carson Cunningham also scored 16 points for Rockford, his highest-scoring game since rejoining the Lightning. Alpha Bangura led the scoring for the Skyforce, leading all scorers with 21. Rockford picked up five quarter points on the night, and remain undefeated at home.

The Lightning travel to Birch Run to take on the Great Lakes Storm on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. The Bolts are winless on the road, but hope to take their momentum of the victory over Sioux Falls with them to Michigan. The Bolts then return home on Thursday, December 16, to face the Storm at the Rockford MetroCentre at 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call the MetroCentre box office at 815-968-5222.
