Tribe to host Indoor Baseball Fest on MLK Day

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 15, by hosting an Indoor Baseball Fest from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The event will take place in conjunction with the White River State Park's annual MLK Day celebration. Admission is free with one canned food item (which will be donated to Gleaner's Food Bank).

Members of the community are encouraged to stop by Victory Field for several special activities, including a baseball challenge video game, viewing of "The Life of Jackie Robinson" and Negro League memorabilia display.

Rowdie, the club's mascot, will also entertain children with a coloring contest from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

In addition, all children can win a prize by taking their chance at the Tribe's spinwheel.

Free parking will be available in the main lot on the third-base side of Victory Field.
