Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

The bullpen for the Tri-City Dust Devils held off a late push from the Boise Hawks as the team won 4-3 in their first game back from the All-Star break on Thursday night. Cal Quantrill, the eighth overall pick of this year's Major League Baseball Draft, did not allow a run and struck out four batters in 2.2 innings of work.

The Dust Devils built a four-run lead, but Boise would not go down without a fight. The Hawks scored three runs off of Tri-City reliever

Nathan Foriest in the seventh inning. Evan Miller took over and pitched 2.1 scoreless innings to close out the game for the team. Miller earned the first save of his professional career.

Catcher Kyle Overstreet delivered for the Dust Devils at the plate. Overstreet finished the night with two hits, one walk, and scored two of the team's four runs. Boomer White also ended the game with two hits for Tri-City.

Left-hander Eric Lauer will start the second game of the five-game series on Friday night. Boise will counter with Javier Medina. It will be Baseball Bingo Night presented by Gesa Credit Union and a CO-Energy $1 Family Feast Night. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
