Trenton Devils News Release

Trenton, NJ - The Trenton Titans Professional Hockey Team announced today that they have named Jackson Hegland as assistant coach.

Hegland spent the last three seasons playing professionally in Japan. He completed a four-year career at Princeton in 1999, and split the following year between the ECHL and the Central Hockey League. In 89 career games with the Tigers, Hegland netted five goals, 15 assists and 50 penalty minutes. As a junior during the 1997-98 season he helped lead Princeton to their first-ever ECAC Tournament Championship, and their first and only NCAA Tournament appearance. This season of coaching will be Hegland's first in professional hockey.

"Jackson's enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will be a very strong asset to our hockey club this season," stated Titans' Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Bill Armstrong. "He will play an instrumental role in our quest for the Kelly Cup."

Hegland looks forward to the challenge and returning to familiar surroundings.

"I am very excited about working with Coach Armstrong and the Trenton Titans," said Hegland. "It is a great opportunity to be involved with this organization, and I look forward to helping this team achieve great things both on and off the ice."

Full season and partial ticket plans are on sale now by calling the Titans' ticket office at (609) 599-9500. The Titans begin "Five Years of Riveting Hockey" on Friday night October 17th at 7:30 pm against the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
