
Chiefs Agree to Terms With Two

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that they have agreed to terms with forwards Chad Cavanagh (Cava-Knaw) and Tommy Bolduc (Bole-duke).
"Both of these players bring something different to the table. Cavanagh is a skilled forward who has put up good numbers wherever he has played. Bolduc is a tough winger, a player Johnstown fans will like. (Chiefs defenseman) P.L. Courchesne said he was one of the tougher kids in the Quebec league when he played there," said O'Brien.
Cavanagh, 25, played the last four seasons at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Cavanagh was Acadia's leading scorer last season with 11 goals and 25 points in 27 games. During his four year career at Acadia, the 6'0, 188 LBS native of Peterborough, ONT scored 34 goals and 75 points in 94 games.
Cavanagh played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with London, Detroit, Sudbury, Sarnia, and Sault Ste. Marie. During the 1998-99 season he was Sault Ste. Marie's leading scorer with 40 goals and 79 points in 68 games. He was a 9th round pick (232nd overall) of the Washington Capitals in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
Bolduc, 22, played part of last season with the El Paso Buzzards of the Central Hockey League where he was pointless in 15 games with 69 PIM. He also played 17 games in the Quebec Senior Pro League where he had a goal and two assists along with 107 PIM. During the 2001-02 campaign saw he action with Mississippi (ECHL), Knoxville (UHL), and Fort-Wayne (UHL). In 25 games with Knoxville, Bolduc had 159 PIM.
The 6'2, 205 LBS native of Beauport, PQ played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Quebec, Victoriaville, and Chicoutimi. In 175 games in the QMJHL, Bolduc had 11 goals, 28 points and 954 PIM.
