Trenton Titans News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans, members of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, have announced an affiliation agreement with the Danbury (CT) Whalers of the Federal Hockey League.
The affiliation will focus on player development, with players from Danbury having the opportunity to be promoted to Trenton.
"We look forward to working with the Danbury organization. We had a few players going back and forth last year between the clubs and it worked out perfectly. With this announcement and partnership agreement we look to make it an even better program. " said Titans President/CEO Rich Lisk .
Last season Danbury sent nine players to Trenton for a total of 71 games. Those players were Kelly Miller, Nick Niedert, James Sanford, Matt Moffat, Vinny Geonetti, Steve Mallaro, Anthony Pisano, Chris Clark, and Gentry Zollars.
The Trenton Titans returned in the 2011-12 hockey season after a five year hiatus and boasted a 26.1% increase in attendance over the previous year, the largest of any team in the 20-team ECHL.
