Macon Trax News Release
[Macon, Ga.] â Two weeks after the Trax were blasted by the Aces; Macon got its revenge in a 4-2 win on home ice. David Deeves led the way for the Boys In Black with two goals.
Dominick Dawes chose a perfect time to score his first professional goal. After taking out two Asheville players behind the net, Dawes redirected Mark Allen's shot into the net at 11:35 of the third period.
Asheville started the scoring 14:10 into the game when Chris Ferguson scored his first of two goals on the night. That was the only scoring in a first period where the teams combined for 28 shots.
Whatever Head Coach Tommy Stewart said to the Trax in the locker room worked. David Deeves netted his first of two goals on the night when Ryan Rivard and Craig Miller found him on the door step just 70-seconds into the second period.
The Aces retook the lead three minutes later when Ferguson lit the lamp again. After seeing Asheville take the first two power plays of the night the Trax finally got their chance just past the half way mark of the game.
The Southern Professional League's top power play kicked it into high gear as Mark Allen scored his second goal of the season to get the Trax back to even. Both teams started to play a physical style of game late in the second period, not willing to give up any odd man breaks.
After the Dawes goal in the middle part of the period, Deeves added an empty net goal to seal the Trax victory. Macon goalie Mark Cairns made 28 saves for his third consecutive victory, in each game only giving up two goals.
The Trax will enjoy only two days off before hosting the Knoxville Ice Bears on Tuesday. The Nov. 30 game is another "Double Cola-Double Tuesday." All fans who bring in a Double Cola product will receive 2-for-1 tickets for the game. In addition, all fans in attendance can take advantage of 2-for-1 drink specials.
All Trax broadcasts can be heard on Talk Radio 1670 WMWR starting 15 minutes before the puck drop. Tickets for all home games start as low as six dollars. Call the Trax at 478-742-4TIX to reserve your seat.
