Macon Trax News Release
[Macon, Ga.]âThe Macon Trax, members of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), has hired a new Director of Community Relations. Tammy Brown will take over the position, and she knows she has a lot of work ahead of her.
Last season the Trax were one of the most active teams in all minor league sports in terms of getting out in the community. As a team the Trax won the league's "Humanitarian Award." Individually Ryan Rivard was given the Individual "Humanitarian Award" for spending more hours dedicated to community service than any other player in the league.
Brown will also assist in corporate sales throughout the year. Tammy graduated with a Marketing Management degree from West Central Technical College. Before working in hockey, Brown worked in various managerial and sales positions for South Trust Bank.
"Tammy worked very hard last year to learn the minor professional hockey business." said Trax General Manager Joe Suk, "I think she will be a great asset to the office staff and will only further the goals we have set for her position."
The only blemish on Brown's record is where she got started in the hockey world. Last season she spent the year with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the ECHL as an intern. Despite working for the Snakes, we have now cleansed here and showed her the right way in minor league hockey.
"I am very excited to join the Trax team and to be working in hockey. I am eager to get our staff and players out in the community to meet all the fans of Middle Georgia. I am very aware of the awards the Trax won last season and I hope to continue the excellence that was here before I arrived."
Tammy is single and has a five year old son, Tristen. She currently resides in Newnan, Ga. In her spare time she loves to watch the Thrashers and Braves. She hopes the Braves win another division title and make it to the World Series this year.
To contact Brown you can call the Trax office at 478-742-4849 and press extension 2. To reach the new staff member by email write to tbrown@macontrax.com.
Season tickets and corporate packages for the 2004-05 season are on sale now for as low as $99. The Trax are looking forward to renewing their rivalries with Columbus and Huntsville from the late 1990's. To be a part of exciting Macon Trax hockey call the office at 478-742-4849.
