Macon Trax News Release
[Macon, Ga.]âThe Macon Trax are excited to announce their first open auditions for National Anthem tryouts. Any singers in Middle Georgia are invited to audition for the opportunity to sing before a Macon Trax Hockey home game.
The Trax players, staff and fans have realized how important our nation's National Anthem has become over the past few years. With patriotism on the rise the Trax would like to have as many different people sing the anthem before home games this year as possible.
The auditions will be held at the Macon Centreplex on Oct. 8 from 9am-4pm. Anyone interested in scheduling a time to tryout should call Director of Community Relations, Tammy Brown at (478) 742-4849, ext. 2.
"We are very excited to have the anthem sung by our local residents." said Brown, "I hope everyone that has ever wanted to sing the national anthem at a professional sporting event comes out on Oct. 8th."
The Trax would like to emphasize this is not limited to individuals. Any group or non-profit organization that is interested in singing the anthem will be welcome to attend. Also, if people have a conflict with the date of the auditions, please call the Trax office to schedule an alternative time.
The Trax begin their 2004-05 season with a six game road trip on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 in Huntsville and Columbus respectively. The Trax will debut on home ice Saturday, Nov. 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:05 pm. Check the Trax website at www.macontrax.com for a complete schedule.
