
Trax announce opening night roster

[Macon, Ga.]âThe Macon Trax have completed training camp and have found the 18 players that will make up the opening night roster. Head Coach Tommy Stewart has elected to keep nine forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies.
Returning for their third year as the only players remaining from the original Trax roster are David Deeves, who is also an Assistant Captain, and Edan Welch. Coming back for their second campaign in a Trax uniform will be John Gurskis, who is also the Assistant Coach, Steve Zoryk, Team Captain, Craig Miller, Assistant Captain, and Ryan Rivard.
Head Coach Tommy Stewart will start the season with three veterans (over 210 professional games) and seven rookies. The second year head coach has a lot of confidence in his young corps.
"I think a lot of these kids will step up." said Stewart, "I know my returning players and veterans are going to help a lot especially early in the season."

The Trax begin their 2004-05 season with a six game road trip on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 in Huntsville and Columbus respectively. The Trax will debut on home ice Saturday, Nov. 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:05 pm. All games can be heard on Talk Radio 1670 WMWR, with pre-game starting 15 minutes before face off. Make sure to reserve your season tickets and single game tickets for the 2004-05 season. The Trax open their home schedule on November 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Trax office at (478) 742-4849. Season tickets start as low as $99 and single game tickets are only $6.
