NASHVILLE, Tennessee - Late heroics from Round Rock Express (37-40) RF Travis Snider led the E-Train to a dramatic 6-4 win over the Nashville Sounds (37-40) on Tuesday night at First Tennessee Park. The outfielder finished the game 4-5 with a pair of RBI while helping the Express move into a tie with the Sounds for second place in the division.

Round Rock reliever LHP Adam Loewen (4-0, 2.92) picked up the win by virtue of tossing a scoreless eighth inning of relief. Nashville closer RHP Jake Sanchez (1-1, 1.93) suffered the loss after giving up a pair of runs on four hits in the ninth inning. RHP R.J. Alvarez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his third save.

E-Train RHP David Ledbetter saw a no-decision in his second start of the season. The righty held Nashville to three runs on five hits in 3.2 innings of work. Sounds starter RHP Chris Smith permitted four runs on five hits and four walks in 4.2 frames.

Round Rock jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning. C Brett Nicholas singled before 1B Ryan Rua walked. Following a Travis Snider single, 3B Jason Martinson grounded into a fielder's choice that allowed Nicholas to score while Snider was eliminated at second base. LF Drew Stubbs worked a walk to load the bases, then SS Jurickson Profar singled home a pair of runners.

However, Nashville responded in the bottom of the frame. RF Mark Canha opened the frame with a double before SS Melvin Mercedes followed up with a triple. An ensuing Jaff Decker double cut the Round Rock lead to 3-2.

The Sounds managed to level the game in the fourth. CF Kenny Wilson singled before stealing both second and third during the next plate appearance. Ledbetter then skipped a wild pitch past Nicholas, allowing Wilson to race home with the game-tying run.

Both teams traded a run in the fifth inning. In the top of the frame, Profar manufactured a leadoff walk prior to DH Will Middlebrooks being hit with a pitch. A clutch two-out Rua single gave Round Rock a brief 4-3 advantage. In the bottom of the frame, Mercedes walked before ultimately scoring on a Wilson single to knot the contest at 4-4.

After a trio of scoreless frames, Round Rock broke through with a two-out rally in the ninth. After Hoying and Middlebrooks were retired, Nicholas and Rua notched back-to-back singles. Snider then stepped to the plate and lined a bases-clearing double into left field, giving the E-Train a 6-4 edge.

Alvarez then emerged to close out the game. After a pair of quick outs, the righty allowed a single to Canha before hitting 1B Matt McBride with a pitch to bring the game-winning run to the plate. Alvarez then recovered to strike out Mercedes to put a bow on the 6-4 win.

Round Rock and Nashville will meet again on Wednesday night. Express RHP James Dykstra (0-1, 6.14) is set to face off against Sounds RHP Frankie Montas (0-1, 5.68). First pitch at First Tennessee Park is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
