DES MOINES - The Iowa Cubs (34-43) pulled off a come-from-behind victory over the New Orleans Baby Cakes (28-49) 7-6, Tuesday night at Principal Park.

New Orleans got the scoring started in the first when Iowa starter Zach Hedges (0-2) allowed a walk, single and double to three consecutive hitters for the game's first run. The lead did not last long as John Andreoli led off with a double in the bottom half of the frame and Kyle Schwarber brought him in with a single.

Iowa continued its hot-hitting in the second with Victor Caratini doubling and Jacob Hannemann singling to set-up a sacrifice fly for Chesny Young. Hannemann scored on a wild pitch before Andreoli smacked his second double of the night to bring in Elliot Soto.

Both teams would add a run in the fourth before New Orleans knocked Hedges out of the game in the fifth. Hedges allowed a hit and two walks to load the bases before he walked in a run and was replaced by Conor Mullee. Mullee then gave up a two-run game-tying single to Tomas Telis .

The Baby Cakes took the 6-5 lead on a sacrifice fly in the fifth and the edge held until Schwarber knocked in his second run of the game with a two-out single in the seventh to tie the game once more. Iowa loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the eighth before Stephen Bruno was hit by a pitch to force in the winning run.

Hedges went 4.1 innings, allowing nine hits, six runs and six walks, all while whiffing just one. Mullee, Ross Detwiler and Fernando Rodriguez combined to throw 4.2 scoreless innings, while allowing a hit and two walks, while striking out three. Rodriguez (1-0) earned the win for Iowa.
