B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) After adding yet another dramatic chapter to his career as a Lion, Travis Lulay has earned CFL Top Performer kudos for Week 5 after leading the club to a 20-17 come-from-behind win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday night.
Throwing for 326 yards and a touchdown on the evening, Lulay took advantage of some big plays by his defence including two turnovers on downs and three interceptions, to overcome a 17-point deficit in the second half of the key West Division tilt and propel the Lions to their second win on homefield in 2018.
Engineering touchdown drives of 83 and 79 yards, the 10-year veteran pivot converted an Anthony Orange fourth quarter pick into a 42-yard march deep into Winnipeg territory to set up Ty Long's game-winning field goal.
The win Saturday featured Lulay's 17th career 300-yard game and he now sits 816 passing yards from becoming just the third quarterback in Lions' history to reach the 20,000-yard plateau.
The Lions return to the practice field this morning and will travel to Ottawa later this week to take on the REDBLACKS on Friday (kickoff: 4:30 pm PT, play-by-play: TSN1040)
The next BC Lions home game is Thursday, August 9 versus the Edmonton Eskimos presented by Nissan.
Single game tickets for all BC Lions regular season home games are on sale now including kid's tickets for just $10 per game and the new Beach Party Zone for only $20. Click here to view the 2018 schedule.
