Travis Adams Promoted to Cedar Rapids, Stankiewicz Placed on IL

Cedar Rapids, IA - Righthanded pitcher Travis Adams has been promoted to the Cedar Rapids Kernels from Class A Fort Myers. In a corresponding move, Kernels righthander John Stankiewicz has been placed on the 7-day Injured List with a right shoulder impingement. With today's transactions, the Kernels active roster now stands at 29 players.

Adams has gone 4-5 with a 3.50 ERA across 15 starts with the Mighty Mussels, boasting a 69:15 K:BB ratio over 69.1 innings of work. The righthander has worked to a 1.04 WHIP while holding hitters to a .224 average and a .585 OPS. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 Amateur Draft out of Sacramento State, Adams is scheduled to start on Saturday, July 30 against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Stankiewicz is 5-4 with a 4.18 ERA over 64.2 innings between Cedar Rapids and Fort Myers, owning a 68:21 K:BB ratio with a 1.27 WHIP. He exited after throwing a few warm-up pitches prior to the bottom of the fourth inning in his last start on July 26 at Wisconsin.
