Montreal Alouettes News Release

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 14 2002 - Here's the daily report for Day 13 of the Alouettes' training camp on the Fort Saint-Jean Campus.

Cuts

Defensive back Ahmad Blakeney was sent home today.

Tough night!

After the team's win in Hamilton, Alouettes' players and coaches took the plane at 11:55 a.m. at Pearson Airport in Toronto. Despite the 20-minute delay, the plane landed in Dorval around 1:15 a.m.

Practice per position teams

The team did not practice together today but by position teams. Position coaches watched videos of last night's game with the players and had the players run on the practice field.

Injuries

Three players were injured in Hamilton. Linebacker Mat Petz dislocated his right shoulder. He will be out for six to eight weeks. Guard Kevin Lefsrud got a left hip flexer. He is questionable for the June 20th game against Ottawa. Defensive back Tim Strickland injured his left knee. He will be re-evaluated and an operation is possible.

Day off!

Head Coach Don Matthews gave his players off on Saturday. The team is back on the field Sunday morning as of 10 a.m. Releases are expected for tomorrow.

Weekly schedule

The Alouettes will practice on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. Players and coaches will be available for interviews after practice on the field. Training camp will break on Wednesday. For more details, visit our website at www.alouettes.net.
