Altoona Curve News Release
Curve, PA - The Altoona Curve have announced that their post-game traffic patterns and their alcohol wristbanding policies will remain the same in 2010 as they did in 2009.
The post-game traffic plan is as follows:
Those parking in the VIP lots will be allowed to turn left or right.
Those parking on the top (3rd) level of the parking garage will be directed straight or to turn right on to Park Avenue.
Those parking on the middle (2nd) level of the parking garage will be directed to turn left on to Park Avenue
Those parking on the bottom (1st) level of the parking garage, or those that park in the Galactic Ice parking lot will be directed to turn right on to Park Avenue.
In light of the current construction, Altoona Curve General Manager Rob Egan wishes to inform fans the organization expects very little impact on traffic flow as the Blair County Fire Police will be present after all 71 Curve home games. Additionally, no road work will take place immediately before, during, or immediately after any Curve game this season. "Throughout this whole process we've had a terrific working relationship with New Enterprise [the company spearheading the current project] and Penn Dot," Egan stated. "They are aware of the needs of our fans and have made sure that travel to and from the ballpark will be safe and as accessible as always."
The Curve will also continue their alcohol wrist-banding policy. Fans wishing to consume alcohol must provide a valid photo ID at one of two wrist banding stations located at the ballpark. The stations are at the main entrance of the park and behind home plate near the V.I.P. gates. The policy, which garnered the franchise the 2009 Community Partner Award by Blair Countians for Drug Free Communities is in place in an effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.
"This too is a very easy, quick process that prevents alcohol of getting in to the hands of those that shouldn't have it," Egan added. "We feel our fans are used to this policy and that it should be just as smooth as it was in 2009."
