Lexington County Blowfish News Release
Lexington County, SC (April 1, 2015): The Blowfish have been contacted regarding a trade for Blowie the Blowfish from the Braves or possibly purchasing the popular mascot's contract. However the truth be told, that the offer did not come from Atlanta, but the Braves Dixie Youth Baseball Team in Lexington County.
Blowfish owner Bill Shanahan stated, "It is our responsibility to look at every possible scenario, though, I can put to rest that there is no truth to this rumor! Blowie has a long term contract with the Blowfish and he is very excited about his new home in Lexington County."
Blowie was flattered to hear the rumors and-- rumor has it --that he actually started the rumors himself.
Blowie has quite a busy schedule at this time of the year as there are visits to local elementary schools promoting the Blowfish Reading Program and of course, Monday thru Friday you can see Blowie at the corner of Main and Church in Lexington waving to all the drivers and passengers as they drive by.
