Toys For Tots Bat For Literacy

Burlington, Vermont---The Vermont Lake Monsters are pleased to announce their partnership with The UPS Stores in sponsoring the Toys for Tots "Bat for Literacy" program throughout this baseball season. The Toys for Tots "Bat For Literacy" program is designed to increase literacy and promote reading among children through Lake Monster player's reading appearances and the donation of books.

Throughout the season, the Lake Monsters will make appearances at local libraries to promote the Toys for Tots "Bat For Literacy" program and to read to local children. Each child who attends the event will have his or her picture taken and receive a coupon for a FREE custom Vermont Lake Monsters baseball card courtesy of The UPS Store.

The UPS Store will donate books to each library the Lake Monsters visit during the 2008 season.

This week, a Lake Monsters player will be at the Fletcher Free Library on Tuesday, June 23 at 10:30 am, the Williston Library on Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00am, and the Winooski Library on Friday, June 27 at 11:00am
