-SAWBUCK SERIES, PART THREE: The Spikes renew the Sawbuck Series with the Williamsport Crosscutters when they head up Route 220 to Historic Bowman Field for a 7:05 start. In all-time results, the Spikes lead the Pennsylvania rivalry , 15-9.

-SPIKES DROP RUBBER MATCH: After splitting the first two games of a three-game series, the Spikes lost to the Auburn Doubledays, 10-4, last night. State College attempted a comeback in the fourth, scoring three runs to close the deficit from 7-1 to 7-4. But Auburn pulled away with three runs in the sixth. Matt Hague led Spikes hitters with two hits, including a double to the Nittany Bank Nook in the second.

-TOP OF THE ROTATION TO YOU: Right-hander Emilis Guerrero gets his second start of the year tonight against Williamsport. Guerrero went four innings in the season opener at Jamestown, allowing one run on three hits and a walk, while striking out four. The Crosscutters have not yet announced his opponent, but left-hander Spencer Arroyo last started during the second night of the season, and would take his turn tonight.

-POWER FROM THE HAGUE: Matt Hague has State College's second most consistent hitter this year. With Calvin Anderson and his .462 average getting the night off, Hague joined him as the only Spikes to get a hit in every game they've played this year. The Oklahoma State and Washington alum is now hitting .294 with five hits in four games, including two last night.

-FRONT-RUNNERS ARE GAME-WINNERS: In each of the Spikes' first five games this year, the team that has scored first has won the game.

-YOFFRI DOING YEOMAN'S WORK: Spikes right-hander Yoffri Martinez has run up a streak a four consecutive scoreless innings over three appearances. A holdover from the 2007 Spikes staff, Martinez has walked four and struck out four in his four innings.
