Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The Asheville Tourists used a middle innings comeback to defeat the Greenville Drive 6-2 on Friday night in front of 5,910 fans at Fluor Field.

Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, the Tourists (1-1. 28-43) got a run back on an RBI single by Chad Spanberger, and they took the lead in the fifth after a one hour, five minute rain delay forced a Drive (1-1, 26-45) pitching change from Enmanuel De Jesus to Durin O'Linger (2-1). Ryan Vilade's two-run triple into the right field corner gave Asheville a 3-2 lead, and an RBI single by Sean Bouchard tacked on another run.

Tyler Bugner's RBI single in the sixth plated another Tourists run to push the lead to 5-2.

Ryan Fitzgerald plated the Drive's only runs of the night with a long two-run homer off the light pole in right-center field. The long ball was Fitzgerald's first of the season.

The Tourists scored their final run of the night in the ninth when Nic Motley cracked a solo home run over the Green Monster seats in left field.

Fitzgerald continued his hot streak with two hits, and he has logged five hits in the first two games of the series. Pedro Castellanos went 3-4 at the plate for Greenville, while Osinski chipped in with two hits of his own.

The rubber game of the series begins at 7:05 on Saturday night at Fluor Field. Left-hander Jhonathan Diaz (2-5, 4.05) will look to give the Drive the series victory as he takes the mound against Tourists lef-hander Nick Kennedy (1-8, 7.00).
