Toucans Close Out First Season With A Huge Shutout 7-0 Win

Bryan-College Station, TX - The Toucans end their first official season with a 7-0 win at home and a two-game winning streak in front of their loyal fans they gained this summer. This Twin City team fought hard all season long and it really showed in these past two games especially with today's shutout match thanks to a clean sheet by goalie Victor Villarreal. The Toucans had control of the game the entire time and didn't slow down once earning goals passed the 90th minute tonight. The Toucans earned several points in their division and displayed a lot of skills on the field as well as winning the hearts of fans off the field in their first season ever.

The offensive energy in tonight's game truly began when striker Rhys Shirley scored an impressive goal in the 18th minute of the game to get the Toucans on the board. In the first half, Fela Osifeso logged most of the Toucans 16 shots in the first half of the game. This paid off for Fela Osifeo with a goal assisted by Issa Salifu in the 26th minute which went right of the goalies fingertips for some great placement. The final goal in the half was scored by Kyoji Hata to give the Toucans a 3-0 lead going into halftime and proving how offensively dominant they were, seeing many scoring opportunities and keeping possession of the ball.

The Toucans showed no signs of slowing down in the second half with Jesse Agyekum scoring the team's fourth goal in the 66th minute! After holding out for some more time and continuing to fight on, the fifth goal was scored on a PK in the 80th minute by Dekaka Isac who had strong performances on offense all season long. The sixth goal of the night was a distanced shot scored by division one athlete Timmy Ospina that was perfectly placed out of reach of the opposing keeper. The final goal of the evening was made by Owen Mickoy that was assisted by Joel Perez on a corner kick and that logged the Toucans final scoring play of the season.

These men played a great first season and made the Bryan/College Station area proud along with all of their fans back home. They fought hard all season long and displayed a great amount of talent and sportsmanship that will send them far in their careers as we hope to see some of them back next season!
