
Toros Drop Game 2 To St. George

TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros attempted to clinch a spot in the 2009 GBL playoffs Saturday night, but fell short as they were defeated 6-2 by the St. George Roadrunners.
Although they did not clinch, the Toros still have two more chances as they host St. George both Sunday and Monday nights.
Rookie pitcher, Jordan Muir, got the start in front of 2910 Tucson faithful. Muir went five innings deep where he gave up three runs, on eight hits and he picked up the loss (1-4).
Ryan Priddy and Lino Garcia were the Toros' offensive standouts as Priddy went 2-3, and reached on a walk, while Garcia went 2-4, hit a double and drove in one RBI.
With the loss the Toros overall record stands at 37-34, 20-13 in the second half, and they maintain a hold on first place in the South Division.
Game three, of the four-game series, is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm tomorrow with gates opening at 6:00 pm.
