Toros Down BayHawks, Advance to Second Round

Cedar Park, TX April 16, 2012 - The Austin Toros beat the Erie BayHawks, 99-85, on Monday night at Cedar Park Center. With the win, the Toros advance to the second round of the 2012 NBA D-League playoffs presented by BBVA.

The first quarter saw six lead changes and seven ties. Julian Wright's 12 points in the quarter helped the Toros take a 23-21 lead into the second quarter.

The Toros held onto the lead throughout the second quarter, at one point going up by 15. Jerome Jordan had 11 points in the quarter, allowing the BayHawks to reduce the lead, 47-43, at the half.

Austin extended their lead to as high as 11 in the third quarter. They took a 70-64 advantage into the fourth quarter.

The BayHawks reduced the Toros lead to three early in the fourth. The Toros would respond by taking their largest lead of the game of 16 points and never looking back.

Both Eric Dawson and Wright recorded double-doubles, Dawson with 23 points and 16 rebounds and Wright with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Justin Dentmon made his return to the Toros from the Toronto Raptors in the third quarter, scoring 12 points in 16 minutes.

Jordan led all scorers with 26 points and eight rebounds. Kyle Goldchamp recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
