Toronto FC Releases 2012 MLS Regular Season Schedule

Major League Soccer (MLS) announced their complete regular season schedule for 2012 on Thursday. The 17th season of MLS will see each of the league's 19 clubs play 34 regular season games.

Toronto FC enter their sixth season in Major League Soccer and will open the 2012 campaign on Saturday, March 17 in Seattle against the Sounders. The following week, the Reds will host the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2012 Home Opener on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m.

Within each conference, each club will play the same number of in-conference and out-of-conference games following the competition format that was announced in November 2011. Each club will play 17 games at home and 17 on the road in the 34 game regular season schedule.

The Montreal Impact will join Major League Soccer as the 19th team in the league at the start of the 2012 season. Toronto FC will play the Impact three times through the regular season, two games on the road and one game at home. Toronto FC will travel to Montreal on Saturday, April 7 and Wednesday, June 27. The Reds host the Impact on Saturday, October 20. Toronto will host other Canadian rivals, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC will play Toronto once, on Wednesday July 11 at BMO Field.

Prior to the start of the 2012 MLS regular season, Toronto FC will host LA Galaxy at the Rogers Centre on Wednesday, March 7 in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-finals.
