Toronto FC News Release
Toronto FC continues their road trip for game number two of the 2007 MLS regular season. The team departs for New England on Friday for a date against the Revolution Saturday night. Heading into this match, both teams sport records of 0-1-0 after opening day losses. TFC falling 2-0 to Chivas USA, while the Revs fell 1-0 to the Chicago Fire in Illinois.
Despite the loss, Mo and his troops took many positives away from their first encounter and will be looking to improve on last week's performance. The team continued training this week in chilly temperatures at their new home BMO Field, and unfortunately, it doesn't look like the weather will be any better in Foxborough either. Forecasters are calling for a high of only 7C, with a chance of rain.
SCOUTING REPORT
New England finished 2nd in the Eastern Conference last season, and were MLS Cup finalists along with the Houston Dynamo. Their season came to a heartbreaking end as they lost 4-3 on penalties. Head Coach Steve Nichol has the core of his team back for another run at the Cup, as he enters his 6th season at the helm. The Revs will be without one of their key players from last season - American International Clint Dempsey, who crossed the pond to join Premiership club Fulham. However with key players like Shalrie Joseph, Avery John and Taylor Twellman, the Revolution are a force to be reckoned with.
