Toronto FC News Release
Toronto FC will debut a pink jersey in support of the CBCF Wednesday night when the team welcomes the New York Red Bulls in a 7:30 p.m. start at BMO Field.
This will be the first of two games where the team will wear these special jerseys. Saturday, October 10 Toronto FC will wear them once again when the San Jose Earthquakes visit in a 3:30 p.m start. At this match, fans will be able to donate to the CBCF at the gates. Fans are still able to contribute to a great cause before the October 10th match as 10% of all monies raised from the sale of all pink jerseys at CentreSports, and at BMO Field will be donated to the CBCF. This initiative will take place beginning Wednesday, June 24 and run through until Saturday, October 10. CentreSports is located inside the Air Canada Centre right beside Gate 1.
Interim head coach Chris Cummins will be wearing a pink shirt, while the rest the technical staff will wear a CBCF pin on game day. Some of the game worn jerseys will be signed by the players and then donated to the CBCF for their silent auctions.
Toronto FC plays their second game in less than two weeks against their Eastern Conference opponents. The Red Bulls are coming off a 1-1 draw with the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night, while the home team is still riding high after a 6-1 victory over the Montreal Impact last Thursday to claim the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.
