Worcester Tornadoes News Release

Worcester, MA -- The Worcester Tornadoes have announced that 2008 single-game tickets will go on-sale starting at 10am on Saturday, May 3. Afterwards, individual tickets will also be available by calling (508) 792-2288, on the team website at www.worcestertornadoes.com, and by stopping by the Tornadoes office at 303 Main St. in Worcester.

The Tornadoes have planned a fun-filled day to celebrate the launch of individual ticket sales on May 3, from 10am to 1pm at the box office at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field. Tornadoes mascot, Twister, will be in attendance along with Tornadoes players and coaches signing autographs. The speed pitch will set up so young flame-throwers can start getting their arms in shape for the new season. Concession stands will be open and serving complementary food and beverages courtesy of Chartwells and Maines Paper and Food Service. Merchandise stands will also be open so fans can check out new Tornadoes gear for '08. And of course, the ticket booth will be up and running with single-game tickets, Mini-Paks, Flex-Paks, group & picnic outings, season tickets and Tykes Club registration all available. Fans should be also sure to bring their gloves, as everyone is welcome to play catch on the field, weather permitting.

"This is always one of the most fun times of the year," said Tornadoes President and General Manager R.C. Reuteman. "The weather is getting warmer and people are really starting to get excited about baseball. We're happy to help get our fans in the baseball spirit with what should be a terrific day at the ballpark on May 3."

Single game tickets cost $14 for VIP seats, $10 for Box and $6 for Grandstand. The Tornadoes' 2008 campaign begins on the road at Sussex on Thursday, May 22. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm. Worcester's home opener will take place a week later, on Thursday, May 29, also against the Skyhawks. First pitch is set for 6:05pm. All 94 regular season games and all three preseason exhibition games can be heard live on WTAG AM 580, 94.9 FM and online at www.wtag.com.
