South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release
STATESBORO, Ga. - As progress continues on its new stadium, South Georgia Tormenta FC has announced Erk Russell Park as the home venue for its first two matches of the 2022 USL League One season.
After facing North Carolina FC and Union Omaha at Erk Russell Park, Tormenta FC expects to open its new stadium on Saturday, May 7, hosting the Charlotte Independence for Military Night; however, confirmation of venue will be announced in the coming weeks as the club continues to evaluate the readiness of the project.
Since January, the construction of the stadium site has moved quickly.
The outline of Optim Sports Medicine Field is now visible and being prepped for installation of the playing surface. This week, concrete has been poured for the General Admission stands, which will seat nearly 2,500 fans. In the next month, supporters can look forward to the arrival and installation of the stadium lights and the general admission stands, as well as temporary fan stands and a temporary press box.
Tormenta Nation should also stay tuned for kit reveals and additional player announcements.
Tormenta FC is excited for a historic 2022 as it transitions from Erk Russell Park to Tormenta Stadium. Supporters can now purchase season memberships in advance to guarantee their spot at every home match, available with 12-month payment plans. The club also offers Flex Ticket packages which include ten General Admission or Storm Zone 1 (VIP) tickets redeemable at any regular-season home match.
