South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release
STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC fell to Chattanooga Red wolves SC this evening after obtaining an early lead thanks to a Kingsford Adjei goal, assisted by Adrian Billhardt. In a match full of firsts for South Georgia, Gabriel Cabral became the fourth captain in Tormenta FC history, following in the leadership footsteps of Pablo Jara, Joshua Phelps and Lars Eckenrode. Additionally, TJ Bush received his second start of the season and responded positively with seven saves.
GOALS, SAVES
South Georgia was able to get on the scoreboard early after a cross across the field placed in by Billhardt found Adjei. Adjei then took on the fullback and found space to take the shot that beat the Red Wolves SC goalkeeper to his near post. Adjei was able to net his fifth goal of the season while Billhardt assisted for the fifth time this season.
Near the end of the first half, Red Wolves SC was able to find the equalizer after a free kick rebound was taken advantage of by the home side.
Less than ten minutes into the second half, Red Wolves SC was granted a penalty by the referee after a mistimed tackle from Bush. In his second game as a professional, Bush stepped up to the occasion and saved the penalty aimed toward his right side of the net. The save kept South Georgia in the match as it seeked a second goal to get three crucial points on the road.
In the 80th minute, Red Wolves SC found its second goal of the night to give Red Wolves SC the lead.
Tonight's Player of the Match, presented by Galactic Comics and Games, is Ryan Sierakowski. Sierakowski played the entire match and reacted positively when playing out of position. With two shots on target and a chance created, Sierakowski became a threat throughout the opposing team's defensive line.
