South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release

STATESBORO, Ga. - After announcing the release of Parker Siegfried to Detroit City FC, South Georgia Tormenta FC is excited to sign goalkeeper Paul Lewis on loan from the Charleston Battery, pending league and federation approval. Lewis is eligible to play this Friday versus Union Omaha at 8 p.m. ET and recently signed his first professional contract with Charleston in March.

"Parker got an opportunity to start for Detroit, and we were happy to let him have that opportunity," TFC Head Coach John Miglarese said. "So we had to make some quick moves to make sure that we have a goalkeeping staff for the game tomorrow, and Charleston was good enough to loan us one of their goalkeepers, Paul Lewis. Paul is here now, and we're really excited to have him with us."

The 6-foot-5 goalkeeper spent two collegiate seasons with Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California before transferring to California State University at Northridge in 2019. While at Loyola, he made 18 appearances and recorded 68 saves in 1329 minutes.

Lewis graduated from CSU Northridge in 2019, where he started 11 times in 13 appearances, making 45 saves. In a 1-0 win versus UC Irvine, Lewis showed out with a 10-save match that helped his team win with a clean sheet.

"I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to play for Tormenta FC for the remainder of this season," Lewis said. "I had the chance to watch a few games this season and am excited to join Tormenta and work hard to help the team succeed."

Tormenta FC meets Union Omaha for the first time this Friday and looks to end their undefeated streak. The club advises fans to purchase tickets early as space will be limited due to COVID-19. The club will honor all first responders and healthcare workers on Sept. 11 by providing them with free General Admission tickets to the match. Additionally, a portion of each ticket will go to the Bulloch County Parks and Recreation.
