FRESNO, Calif. - South Georgia Tormenta FC continued its fine form on the road tonight with a 0-1 victory at Central Valley. A Gabriel Cabral strike sealed tonight's win, and Cabral proved to be a difference-maker all around the pitch tonight.
Barry Sharifi was reintroduced into the starting XI after almost a month of inaction due to injury. Sharifi leads the team alongside Billhardt and Adjei in goals scored this USL League One regular season with three.
The first half numbers favored Central Valley, but Tormenta FC had one of the most dangerous shots of the half. In the 24th minute, a great run through the right side by Jamil Roberts saw the ball be placed into the path of Sharifi. His shot hit off the crossbar, though.
South Georgia started the second half with aggressiveness and determination in finding the night's first goal. A 53rd-minute team build-up play culminated in a shot from Adjei to be saved by Central Valley goalkeeper Mitchell North.
In the 60th minute, Tormenta FC's determination finally paid off. A free kick by Cabral was placed directly into the wall. However, the rebound found the Brazilian, who did not hesitate to hammer the ball under the wall and inevitably beat the goalkeeper to earn his first professional goal.
