South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release
MADISON, Wi. - South Georgia Tormenta FC was unable to maintain its undefeated streak on the road after dropping points in a 2-0 defeat against Forward Madison FC.
In one of the best environments in the league, Tormenta FC succumbed to pressure in the final 20 minutes of the match following a spectacular first half. South Georgia was unable to score in the first half even though its shots on target were far superior to those of Madison's. Kazaiah Sterling was able to find various opportunities, but great saves by the opposing keeper helped keep the game level through the first half.
Tobias Otieno was able to fire a shot from afar four minutes into the second half that the keeper sent to a corner kick. With little to no opportunities in the second half, South Georgia aimed to get a point out of tonight following three games in seven days.
Madison broke through in the 76th minute of the match after Rojay Smith was able to take a shot after being subbed in five minutes prior to the goal. Matheus Cassinni scored the final goal of the match ten minutes later to secure the win.
Tonight's Player of the Match, presented by Galactic Comics and Games, is Deshawon Nembhard. Defensively, Nembhard had two tackles and two clearances with three interceptions.
