Tormenta FC Announces 2019 Preseason Schedule

Tormenta FC has announced the club's nine-game preseason schedule as the club prepares to kick off the 2019 inaugural USL League One season with its home opener on March 29. The preseason schedule features both USL Championship and college teams.

Tormenta FC will open its preseason lineup at home on February 9 against the University of North Florida and on February 13 against Georgia Southern University. The club then travels to face USL Championship team Atlanta United 2. The next five preseason matches will be held at home against USL Championship team Tampa Bay Rowdies and college teams Lander University, University of South Carolina, Mercer University and Georgia Southern University a second time. Tormenta finishes its preseason lineup away on March 22 against USL Championship team Charleston Battery, one week shy of the team's regular season home opener.

"We have a young and promising group of players," League One head coach John Miglarese said. "Our training environment has been very good, but the best way to improve and to grow is by playing games."

"We have a great mix of strong USL Championship sides and regional college programs to prepare us for a difficult season," Miglarese said.

One of the preseason matches will be open to the public which is on Saturday, February 23 at Erk Russell Park against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Kickoff will be at 2 PM, and this is fan's first opportunity to watch the squad together in action.

Season ticket holders receive entrance to the preseason friendly, while non-season ticket members can purchase general admission tickets for $5 and VIP tickets for $20. All students will get in for $1.

The preseason schedule is as follows:

Sat. February 9 vs. University of North Florida

Wed. February 13 vs. Georgia Southern

Sat. February 16 vs. Atlanta United 2

Sat. February 23 vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies (Open to the Public)

Wed. February 27 vs. Lander University

Sat. March 2 vs. University of South Carolina

Sat. March 9 vs. Georgia Southern

Sun. March 17 vs. Mercer University

Fri. March 22. vs. Charleston Battery

Tormenta FC will then open the 2019 USL League One season at home on March 29 at 7 PM against Greenville Triumph SC.
