Bloomington is coming off of a 4-3 comeback win over the Chicago Steel Wednesday night to give them five points in their last four games. Despite a hat trick from the USHL's leading scorer, Mason Bergh (Colorado College), the Thunder were able to tally two third period goals to come from behind and take the win. Van Barr (Western Michigan University) got the game tying goal at 10:26, roofing it over Steel goalie Cale Morris. Then Assistant Captain Vince Pedrie (Quinnipiac University) would grab the game winner at 16:34 of the third, sealing both a 'Gordie Howe hat trick' and the game for the Thunder. David Jacobson was solid for Bloomington in his sixth straight start, earning the win with 27 saves on the night. The Thunder jumped Green Bay in the standings and now sits in seventh in the Eastern Conference with 15 points.

Team USA is at the bottom of the USHL standings with only a 5-9-0 record and those five wins have all come courtesy of the U-18 club. The U-17's have not seen a win this year in the league and they have also yet to play a road contest. In eight games played the U-17's are 0-8-0 in USHL play but have also competed outside of interleague play. They have grabbed eight wins in out-of-league play and hold a roster of 15 players who are already committed to NCAA Division-I colleges.

Next home game: Bloomington takes on Chicago for the second time this week for their Teddy Bear Toss. Bring down new or used stuffed animals to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum and toss them on the ice after the Thunder score their first goal of the game. All donations will be collected by the Thunder staff and donated to Toys for Tots. Puck drop is at 7:00 pm CST so call the Thunder office for tickets at (309) 434-2980.
