Toledo's run of points ends at ten in 3-2 loss to Evansville

(Toledo, OH) Alden Hirschfeld picked up a pair of goals but Evansville took the game 3-2 at the Huntington Center Wednesday night. Toledo has an overall record of 11-6-1-3 and 2-2-0-1 at home. The loss snapped Toledo's ten game unbeaten in regulation streak.

The Walleye took a 1-0 lead when Alden Hirschfeld (9th) shoveled in a rebound at 15:49 of the first period. A.J. Jenks and Joel Chouinard had the assists on the power play goal. Hirschfeld was at it again in the second period when he again found pay dirt with a rebound at 5:07. The power play goal gave Alden his team-leading tenth goal of the season.

The IceMen got on the scoreboard at 7:22 of the second period when Evansville forward Justin MacDonald got credit for a goal that went off of the stick of Walleye defenseman Jared Nightingale. MacDonald tied the game at two with a goal at 4:25 of the third period. The IceMen power play gave Evansville the lead at 7:14 of the third period.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson stopped 33 of 36 shots and has a record of 5-4-2. Toledo last lost in regulation prior to tonight on November 13, 5-4 at Manchester. The Walleye power play finished 2-4 on the night and has four goals in the last two games.
