
Toledo Walleye Win ECHL Team Excellence Award

The ECHL announced that the Toledo Walleye have been selected as the 2009-10 recipient of the ECHL Team Award of Excellence.
The award recognizes the ECHL organization that executes a well-rounded business plan including, but not limited to, sales, marketing, media relations and merchandising while also distinguishing themselves in their community, on and off the ice.
Toledo finished second in the ECHL in 2009-10 with an average attendance of 6,294 per game. The Walleye's total attendance of 226,575 fans was nearly 50,000 more than the city's all-time record in over 60 years of hockey history. In their first season in the league, the Walleye sold over 2,100 season tickets and led the league in souvenir sales.
The Walleye registered over 6,000 recipients for their email newsletter, had over 16,000 fans on Facebook and over 1,400 followers on Twitter.
