Todd Kibby Masterful Pitching Performance
Published on July 8, 2012 under Appalachian League (ApL)
Bristol White Sox News Release
Masterful. That's the only way to describe the pitching performance tonight of Todd Kibby, he threw 8 innings, 100 pitches, and 65 of them for strikes. Kibby recorded 6 strikeouts combined with 2 walks, one hit and one earned run.
Mitch Mustain gave a one inning one run relief performance in the 9th
Kibby had plenty of offense behind him with Kale Kiser having a masterful outing with the bat going 3 for 4, only short of the cycle by a Home run, and scoring the eventual winning run in the 1st. Kale also knocked in 3 of Bristol's 5 runs. Jake Brown(2), Jose Barazza, and Eric Grabe crossed the plate for the Sox.
Kibby kept the Greeneville bats quiet with a mix of fastballs, sliders, and change-ups going inside, outside, up and down the strike zone and when they did get the Astro bats on the ball, the Bristol defense was there with 17 put outs.
Bristol evened up the Greeneville Astro series at 1 game apiece with the rubber match being played tomorrow before a well deserved day off for the entire Appalachian League.
