Tobs Staying Close to Home

WILSON, N.C., March 19, 2015 - The Tobs won't be reaching out very far to welcome four players that already have ties to Wilson for the 2015 season.

Utility man Parker Lamm (East Carolina) and outfielder Jacob Page (Army) will return to Wilson to play summer ball for their hometown team, while Barton College's Calvin Hawke and Andrew Webster will be within jogging distance from their school.

Lamm is currently in his first year with the ECU Pirates having transferred from Pitt Community College. The Hunt High School alum hit .300 with 12 doubles, 17 RBIs and scored 46 runs in two seasons for Pitt, helping them to a 32-14 record. While at Hunt, Lamm was a nine-time letter winner in three different sports.

Page, also a Hunt High School alum, joins his hometown team from West Point. He continued his high school success in college. In 2014, Page's sophomore season, he batted .297, which was second on the team in batting average.

Hawke enters 2015 as a sophomore is coming off an impressive freshman season, hitting for a .288 average, with 12 RBIs and scoring 16 runs. He also averaged a hit per game with 32 games played and 32 hits.

Webster, also a sophomore, had a stellar freshman season in 2014, hitting .330 with five home runs and 31 RBIs. So far this year, the Pittsboro, N.C. native has hit .288 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 18 games.

Hawke and Webster will also get a jump on how the confines of Historic Fleming Stadium plays before the Tobs' season opener on Sunday, May 24. Barton is scheduled to play three games at Historic Fleming Stadium including this Friday's contest with Belmont Abbey at 5 p.m.

The other dates include Friday, April 3 against Southern Wesleyan and Friday April 17 versus Pfeiffer. Both are scheduled for 5 p.m. starts.

The Tobs will open up the 2015 season Sunday, May 24th at home in an exhibition game against the Fuquay-Varina Twins of the Carolina Virginia League including a post game fireworks show presented by Thomas & Farris.
