Wilson Tobs News Release

Wilson, N.C. - The Wilson Tobs Baseball Club is proud to announce the hiring of Stephen Andrew MacKinnon II (Drew) as the new Director of Operations & Group Sales. Many Tobs fans will recognize Drew since he was the operations intern with the Club in the Summer of 2019. Tobs General Manager had this to say about his new hire, "Drew not only has an extensive knowledge of sports, but he really understands how a sports organization function. It is rare that you find someone that can make multiple sales, fix something in the ballpark, and successfully take care of a group of 20+ all in one day. Our organization is lucky to have someone like him that can wear multiple hats and already has a vast knowledge of Wilson Tobs Baseball".

Prior to the Tobs, Drew obtained experience working in customer service & sales at Hertz Car Rental. Before Hertz, Drew gained experience in the sports industry as the football team equipment manager at East Carolina University, where he completed his degree in Sport Management.

Drew currently lives and commutes from Winterville, NC where he lives with his loving and supportive girlfriend, Deepika, and (4) pets. For Drew his journey began in Harrisonburg, VA in the Shenandoah Valley, but early on his family moved to the Baltimore area. He grew up in the Baltimore area, playing sports year-round like football in the Fall, basketball in the Winter, and baseball/lacrosse in the Spring. Football was always Drew's favorite sport and was on track to play it at the collegiate level, but those plans were cut short due to having repeated injuries. Playing sports and being a team player has always been his philosophy and he cannot wait to bring this focus to the Tobs organization.

Drew could not be more ready to get the ball rolling and bring his love of sports back to the Wilson community. When asked about why he accepted this position he stated, "I applied for this job because I know the Tobs and feel at home with the organization. It means so much to me to be able to do what I love every single day". Drew's love for the Tobs and his enjoyment of the Wilson sports atmosphere was evident when he stated, "I love the fact that the City of Wilson takes pride in their Tobs and you can always trust the fans to be out at every game cheering on the team. I am excited to see some familiar faces again as well as become a permanent part of the Tobs family & the Wilson community. I am happy to take the next step in my sports career as the Director of Operations & Group Sales for your Wilson Tobs. Tobs Roll!".
