Tobs Deck the Halls with Bats & Balls

Wilson, N.C. - The Wilson Tobs have announced the kickoff of Our 2nd Annual "Deck the Halls with Bats and Balls" program. This program will collect new and used baseball or softball sports equipment and donate it to the local Wilson Police Athletic League at Christmas. "The Police Athletic League (PAL) is a partnership between the youth, police, and the community that builds positive relationships through recreational, athletic, and educational programs. It is designed to encourage good citizenship, and our goal is to make positive impacts with our youth BEFORE they get into trouble. We mentor kids to become adept and capable of implementing appropriate solutions to problems that they may face in their lives. We are always looking for new opportunities to build strong relationships with our youth. We welcome any opportunity to discuss the Wilson Police Department PAL programs with anyone." stated Thomas Hopkins, Chief of Police, Wilson Police Department.

The collection drive will kick off on Monday, September 21st, and will last until December 18th. Anyone that donates between this time will be entered in a drawing to receive Tobs Prizes for the 2021 Season. "We are ecstatic to start collecting items and cannot wait to donate them to kids that want to play sports but may not have the equipment necessary to get into the game. This equipment drive means so much to me as I see kids excited about receiving these gifts." stated Donta Lewis, Director of Operations & Sales of the Wilson Tobs. Anyone looking to donate items for this cause can do so by dropping off the items at the Wilson Tobs Office (Historic Fleming Stadium - 300 Stadium St. SW, Wilson, NC 27893) Monday-Friday Between 10:00-4:00 pm. This program requests the following items: bats, gloves, baseballs, softballs, helmets, hats, catcher's equipment, etc. The Wilson Tobs are excited to start this 2nd annual equipment drive and look forward to the help it will provide those throughout the Wilson community. We are proud to be part of this community outreach and look forward too many successful years of this program going forward. Tobs Roll!
